Seeing
your native land, your hometown, falling and stumbling, of course you or I
would feel sympathy for it. Being raised there, you have that feeling inside
you, that feeling that you want to protect your locality. But then there it
came, the time in which it falls and there you are seeing it with your own
eyes, that you can’t do anything to protect it being powerless and all. So
there you are vulnerable and defenseless making the memories you have made
within this land remain only in your memory.
Aeneas is a true man indeed. After
reading the book, aeneid, aeneas is a kind of man who wouldn’t stop to try and
try until he get what he wants, which is to rule of his own. While going
through the book, I wondered and thought of what would happen next on his
journey, will he continue to strive for the goal he wishes to achieve? Or would
quit in the middle of a game that he’s facing with the hardships he would face.
At first, i pitied him, who wouldn’t? Who wouldn’t pity a man, that with his
own eyes, saw the downfall of his own native land at the same time, couldn’t
protect it? To think that this very dear land that you lived for years to just
dissapear. If i were him despair would fill up my mind and I would just wish
for my death to come. But no, Aeneas didn’t. He had a goal. And that’s one of
the reasons i adore him.
When we think of things such as we
want to end our life, others advise us that as long as we’re living there’s
still hope. Failures aren’t the end our our long journey, they are only a small
part of it. Like Aeneas, though he faced a lot of hardship from the moment he
went away to search for his goal, he never failed to move forward. He’s an
example of an inspiration for us students to keep moving forward and to never give
up just to reach that goal you want.
