“Her Knight in Shining Armour”

            Every one of us is a fan of happy endings, well, except for those who like tragedies. Mostly girls, like us are a fan of happy endings. The story Romeo and Juliet is an example of tragedy, many cried while watching it. But what if the story had a happy ending? What Romeo knew about Juliet and Friar Lawrence’s plans? Would it be as famous as it is now? If I could change its ending, of course like every girl would do, I would make the ending a perfect happily ever after. So, it starts here.

           The messenger successfully delivered Romeo the letter of their plan on Juliet’s secret death. Romeo waited, and finally, Juliet arrived with Friar Lawrence with tears from her eyes from to much happiness that finally she can be with the love of her life. Little did they know, Paris was behind them all the time and is ready to tell Capulets what really had happened. But then Juliet saw Paris and shrieked. They cornered Paris with their swords, they’re too many too handle Paris so, he just gave up. Later on, they explained everything to Paris. Their love, sacrifices, the betrayals, everything, they begged Paris not to tell anyone. Paris softened from what he heard, he promised to never spill their secret to anyone. Everyone rejoiced with Paris’ decision. When Paris was already travelling back to Verona, she met a Woman his age and immediately fell in love with her. The woman, he knew later on, was Romeo’s cousin, still he didn’t care even if she’s a Montague. Everything was perfect then, except in Verona. The war between two families worsen, with Romeo banished and Juliet’s death, they blamed each other’s families for what happened. When Paris came back to Verona with his girl, everyone was surprised, he loved Juliet so much but now, he’s married to this woman. This made Capulet furious, he cursed the Montague’s for stealing Paris away from them and marrying a Montague instead. The war from worse, became the worst, even the Prince can’t control them anymore.

            Years later, Paris, his wife and their beautiful 2-year old daughter came to visit Romeo and Juliet with their handsome 4-year old son. They told them about the unstoppable war happening between their families. Romeo and Juliet decided to return to Verona and stop the war between their families. As soon as they came in Verona, they saw how both families are fighting. As the people saw them, they immediately stopped fighting and looked at Romeo and Juliet, mouths dropping from being surprised. Romeo and Juliet begged their families to stop fighting, at first they didn’t listen to them but after they saw their son and Paris’ daughter getting along so well despite their past, their hearts melted and forgave each other. Years later, Romeo and Juliet’s son and Paris and Paris’ wife’s daughter fell in love and married making the whole city of Verona rejoice.
